Types of Boiler

COMBI BOILER

  • is a high efficiency water heater combined (combi) with a central heating boiler
  • water is heated directly from the mains, reducing hot water costs
  • hot storage cylinder or cold storage cistern in the roof/loft not required
  • extra room space makes it ideal for flats, bungalows and houses with loft conversions

REGULAR BOILER

  • also known as traditional or conventional boiler
  • suitable in houses with existing traditional heating and hot water systems
  • needs a separate hot water cylinder
  • needs a cold water storage cistern to feed the hot water cylinder
  • needs an expansion cistern in the loft
  • good in homes where large amounts of stored hot wateris needed i.e two bathrooms or more
  • compatible with solar water heating systems, environmentally friendly and cost saving

SYSTEM BOILER

  • works on the principal of stored hot water like the regular boiler
  • components are built into the boiler
  • quick and easy to install
  • doesn't need a feed and expansion vessel in the loft
  • can have either a mains pressure hot water cylinder or a low pressure hot water cylinder
  • compatible with solar water heating systems
  • benefits from environmentally friendly hot water, reduced hot water and heating costs
